Getting Your CDL

GETTING YOUR CDL
(COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE)

After getting your CDL permit, which is obtained by successfully completing the CDL permit written test from the Georgia Department of Driver Services, you will further train and prepare for the CDL range and road test. This test consists of three parts and is administered by the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

Truck Driver Requirements

WHO CAN BECOME A TRUCK DRIVER & WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

Trucking is a great career for younger and older adults, as well as both men and women. The minimum required age to get a commercial driver license is 18 years and you must have a valid Georgia driver’s license. Drivers must also have the ability to pass the DOT physical, drug screen and alcohol test.
