FishHound Expeditions is a guide owned, guide operated company offering Alaska fly fishing trips on some of Alaska’s best rivers.
Our guides have fished and guided all over the world, but Alaska is where we will always come back to! We have taken our years of experience and knowledge to find the best fishing Alaska has to offer for our clients through countless fishing trips and have gained permits for our most favorite and remote rivers. No matter the length of your trip, from one day to ten, our experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate guides will "guide" you to your Alaska fishing trip of a lifetime.
This means excellent spot on information for you - our guest, on when & where to fish. We live & fish in Alaska year round, not just the summer like so many others. This gives us a full picture and intimate knowledge on Alaska’s ever changing river conditions & fish run timings. We specialize in fly fishing but encourage all forms of angling as long as it is done with a smile or occasional cuss word. Our passion is in trout, but our addiction is salmon. Fortunately for us these work in balance and benefit our guests no matter when life deals you your Alaska fishing vacation or its length.
Our summer single day float & wade trips take place up in the town of Willow, AK, a beautiful and scenic hour and fifteen-minute drive north of Anchorage. We are the closest consistent fishing location to Anchorage! We have taken our knowledge & experience that comes with multi-day Alaska fishing trips and focused that talent into our 1/2 day & full day Alaskan fishing adventures! From rainbows to salmon, we can show you how to handle some of Alaska's best water in a day! Our trips can begin as early as mid to late May and run through September 30th & just like anything in Alaska are at mother nature's whim. Based on which rivers are fishing the best, FishHound will supply our customers with the fishing gear they need (license's & parking fees excluded) from quality waders & boots to rods, reels, line & even flies at no additional charge!
We realize that most folks who are doing this style of trips may be new to it & would have no idea what to bring, so we take the guess work out of it- right down to having back-up ponchos and rain gear for our guests. On our full day trips lunch is included in the price and typically consists of reindeer brats, burgers, or a vegetarian option is also available.
