Old Rittenhouse Inn is Bayfield, Wisconsin’s first country inn and gourmet restaurant offering 20 guest rooms in 2 Victorian homes and a private cottage with fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and spectacular Lake Superior views. Our romantic bed and breakfast feels like home from the moment you step inside, with all the comforts and none of the demands.

The Inn is a Queen Anne Victorian home completed in summer of 1890 as a summer residence. Mary and Jerry Phillips purchased the home in 1973 and began running is it as a Bed and Breakfast. The exterior of the house is a combination of native Lake Superior brownstone, creamery brick and shingles.

Old Rittenhouse Inn: Has 12 guest rooms and luxury suites, and is also home to the Old Rittenhouse Inn’s Landmark Restaurant. All overnight guest’s meals, including breakfast, are served here at the main building. Le Chateau: Built for a lumber baron, this historic hillside mansion overlooking Lake Superior is ideal for romantic getaways, special events, reunions, and small corporate retreats. The home features 7 guest rooms, large common areas, and 10 city lots of gardens and manicured grounds with stunning Lake Superior views. Rittenhouse Cottage: The romantic atmosphere and privacy of this arts & crafts cottage is ideal for honeymooners, families, and couples traveling together. The Rittenhouse Cottage is located just 1 block from the main building.
